Orlando-based hotel developer and owner Richard C. Kessler has opened the posh Beaver Creek Lodge, a 72-all suite lodge located in the heart of the Beaver Creek/Vail Valley recreation area in Colorado. The Beaver Creek Lodge features 5,000 square feet of meeting and event space, a newly remodeled fitness center and a valet ski/golf locker room. The nearby Beaver Creek Golf Club, designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr., winds its way through its namesake creek on the edge of Beaver Creek Village. The course is scheduled to open for the summer season in May. Beaver Creek Lodge is part of Kessler's hotel and gallery collection that includes the Casa Monica Hotel in St. Augustine, Fla., the Westin Grand Bohemian in Orlando, Celebration Hotel in Celebration, Fla., and Kessler Canyon in Grand Junction, Colo. Kessler also recently opened the Mansion on Forsyth Park in Savannah, Ga., The 126-room property, with views of the city's famed Forsyth Park, was built onto an existing 1888 mansion. The opening marks a return, of sorts, for Kessler, who was born in Savannah.
