MILLSBORO, Del. -- Delaware's first gated golf resort, The Peninsula on the Indian River Bay, has opened its Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course.

With 18 holes of championship golf hugging the pristine waterfront along Indian River Bay and Lingo Creek, the members-only, environmentally sensitive golf complex runs through each of the development's nine planned neighborhoods.

The state-of-the-art golf facility features a clubhouse and full-service amenities including a driving range, practice green, golf shop, cart storage, lounges, locker rooms and 19th Hole Grill.

The 30,000-square-foot clubhouse, scheduled to open later this year, will boast luxury and comfort exemplified by personal attention, fine dining and an array of club activities. Membership in The Peninsula clubhouse will be available only to homeowners within the development.

The Peninsula on the Indian River Bay is set on nearly 800 acres and surrounded by water on three sides. The heart of the community will be the Lakeside Village Center with casual dining, a gourmet market, as well as a host of facilities including two pools, a wave lagoon with water slide, a state-of-the-art athletic club and spa, and a tennis center.

When completed, The Peninsula will include more than 1,400 residential units ranging from luxury condominiums to custom homes.
