NEW YORK -- Donald Trump is launching his first real estate venture in the Caribbean, a golf resort community on the exclusive Canouan Island in the Grenadines. The Trump Island Villas will accompany his Trump International Golf Club that opened in November of 2004.

The 18-hole championship Jim Fazio course offers views of the Caribbean Sea from every hole and already has been called one of the most challenging and unique courses in the Caribbean, with its 360-degree views of the Tobago Cays and the Grenadines. The Robb Report recently named the course one of its "Best of the Best."

In all, the community will include 135 villas and estate homes nestled in the hillsides across 700 acres on a 1,200-acre private estate that it shares with the new Raffles Resort Canouan Island. Phase One will include 30 Golf and Beach Villas starting at $2 million; they will be the only villas built on the golf club.

Also available as part of Phase One will be 20 three-acre estate lots for those seeking to build a custom-designed home. Estate lot prices start at $2.7 million.

Buyers can choose from three villa styles offering views overlooking the golf course and the Caribbean Sea. The 3,983-square-foot Balliceaux Villas and the 4,251-square-foot Mopion Villas start at $3.75 million, while the 2,583-square-foot Savan Villas starts at $2 million.

In addition, there will be a gated community of Monte Carlo Villas surrounding the European-style Trump Club Privee casino on the northeast side of the island; Marina Villas, which include individual boat slips in a private 30-slip marina on the quiet northwest side of the island; and an additional 47 three-acre estate lots for custom home building.

Villa owners will enjoy full membership privileges at the Trump International Golf Club, which includes dining privileges at four gourmet restaurants, access to Raffles Amrita Spa, beaches, tennis and water sports, as well as other services and amenities offered by Raffles Resort Canouan Island. Owners will also have the option to place their homes in a resort rental program.

Canouan Island is in the heart of the Grenadines, less than eight miles south of Mustique and 110 miles southwest of Barbados. The three square-mile island is rimmed with small bays and coves, white beaches and one of the world's largest coral reefs.
