The renovation of the Royal St. Kitts Golf Club on the West Indies island of St. Kitts is now complete with the re-opening of the front nine holes after a two-year renovation project. Located at the St. Kitts Marriott Resort and the Royal Beach Casino, the Royal St. Kitts Golf Club re-opened its back nine holes for play in November 2003. The 6,900-yard, par 71 course that overlooks the Atlantic Ocean and Caribbean Sea, is managed by Marriott Golf. The redesign was done by Canadian course architect Thomas McBroom, best known for courses such as Rocky Crest (MacTier, Ontario), Bell Bay (Baddack, Nova Scotia) and Kytaja South East (Helsinki, Finland). In addition to the course redesign, the Royal St. Kitts Golf Club also now features a new clubhouse that includes a restaurant, bar and lounge, locker rooms and a full-service golf shop. The Royal St. Kitts Golf Club also will be home to the Faldo Institute by Marriott and will feature a short-game practice area, putting green and practice range. The course is located in the resort area of Frigate Bay on the windward side of St. Kitts Island in the Eastern Caribbean. The resort features 648 guest rooms, suites and garden houses, three swimming pools, the 35,000 square foot Royal Beach Casino and the 15,000 square foot Emerald Mist Spa.
