The opening of the golf course at the Raven Golf Club at Lora Bay, located just outside Thornbury, Ontario, is slated for the summer of 2006, according to officials at Intrawest Golf, a subsidiary of Vancouver, British Columbia-based Intrawest Corporation.

The course will mark the first Raven course in Canada and the seventh throughout North America. The 7,200-yard layout is co-designed by 2006 U.S. Ryder Cup Captain Tom Lehman and Canadian architect Thomas McBroom. Raven is Intrawest's premier golf brand, with courses in Phoenix; Destin, Fla.; Silverthorne, Colo.; Snowshoe, W. Va.; Cabo San Lucas, Mexico; and Buckeye, Ariz.

The Raven Golf Club at Lora Bay will complement the already established Intrawest Blue Mountain Resort, located only minutes from the course. Blue Mountain is a multi-season resort that features a new pedestrian village, seven-acre private beach and Monterra Golf Course.

Lora Bay is the third Raven course that Lehman has designed. Lehman has co-designed 13 golf courses in the United States, but Lora Bay is his first international project. Lora Bay is McBroom's third course for Intrawest Golf and his first co-design with a PGA Tour player. McBroom designed Monterra Golf in 1989 and produced an award winning design for Le Geant at Intrawest's mountain village in Mont Tremblant, Quebec.
