SUNRIVER, Ore. (Sports Network) -- Anna Schultz reached the final at the USGA Senior Amateur Championship for a second straight year by winning a pair of matches on Wednesday at the Sunriver Resort.

Meanwhile, two-time defending champion Diane Lang was eliminated in the semifinals.

Schultz's opponent will be Robyn Puckett, who represented Australia in the 1970 Women's World Amateur Team Championship.

Schultz, of Rockwall, Texas, first beat Madelaine Campbell, 4 & 3 in the quarterfinals, and then got past Tanna Lee Richard, 3 & 2.

This will be the third USGA final for Schultz, who was also the runner-up at the 2000 Women's Mid-Amateur.

"This is what we live for right here, to try and win a USGA championship," said Schultz. "You don't get in the finals very often. This is my third time in a USGA event. When you get the opportunity you have to seize it because you might never get there again."

Lang breezed past Noreen Mohler, 6 & 5, in the quarterfinals before falling to Pucket, 1-up, failing to make Thursday's 18-hole final.

"I am just ecstatic," Puckett said. "Diane is an amazing player. At no point did I think I had the match, even when I was 3-up. She is such a champion. You have to keep plodding along and that's what I did."

Puckett beat Lisa Smego, 1-up; and Richard got by Beatriz Arena, 2 & 1, in the other quarterfinals.
