Park cruises to LPGA Tour Q-School title as 17 earn their 2008 cards

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- Jane Park posted a 3-under 69 Sunday to win the five-day, 90-hole LPGA Final Qualifying Tournament. She finished at 17-under-par 343, which matched the tournament record.

Park, the 2004 U.S. Women's Amateur winner, had a 17-under 274 total. Park, who was a rookie on the LPGA Tour this season, tied Ai Miyazato's record from 2005.

"I was playing great, so I knew I had a good chance to win," Park said. "Just being able to pull it off was just a great confidence booster. I just proved to myself that I can go pretty deep under par. It's a great feeling."

The top 17 finishers after Sunday's fifth and final round earned their LPGA Tour cards for next season.

Su A Kim shot a final-round 66 to finish second at minus-14. Hee Young Park only managed a two-under 70 on Sunday, but came in third place at 10-under-par 350.

Kelli Kuehne, a former LPGA Tour winner, will be back in 2008. She shot a 5-under 67 in the final round to get fourth at minus-9. Carolina Llano came in fifth at 8-under 352, while Yani Tseng was one shot higher after a 72 on Sunday.

Also earning their cards were Russy Gulyanamitta (70) and Jacqueline Yang (69) at minus-6; Louise Friberg (72), Meredith Duncan (73), amateur Shanshan Feng (70), Sarah Kemp (68) and Becky Lucidi (69) at 5-under-par 355.

The final four spots went to Liz Janangelo (72), Sophie Giquel (73), Sandra Gal (69) and Danielle Downey (70). That group finished at 4-under 356.
