He opened with a 64 on Sunday to lead by five strokes, then shared the top spot after the second round with James Ley of Goleta, Calif. Ley and defending champion Bob Mann of Surprise, Ariz., tied for second at 208 on final-round scores of 71 and 69, respectively.

It was Fiedler's second PGA of America victory. He won the 1985 PGA Assistants' Championship at Thorny Lea Golf Club in Brockton, Mass. Fielder earned $2,750 from the $14,550 purse, including $1,000 as the overall low scorer and $1,750 for topping the 50-54 age group.

The Senior Stroke Play is the first of three tournaments that comprise the Callaway Golf PGA Western Winter Championships. The Senior-Junior follows Thursday-Saturday (Mar. 9-11), then the Stroke Play on Mar. 13-15.
