BEAUMONT, Calif. -- James Ley of Goleta, Calif., fired a 4-under-par 68 Monday to grab a share of the lead after two rounds of the PGA of America's Western Senior Stroke Play Championship at the PGA of Southern California Golf Club. The 54-hole event ends Tuesday.
At 137, Ley is tied with Jon Fiedler of Camarillo, Calif., the first-round leader in the opening event of the third annual Callaway Golf PGA Western Winter Championships.

Playing the Champions Course at 6,561 yards, Ley made birdies at Nos. 4, 5, 7, 9, 11 and 13, and bogeyed the eighth and 18th holes. Fiedler made four birdies and a bogey on the front nine, then bogeyed the 10th, 13th, 16th and 17th holes for 40-73 after opening Sunday with 64.
Ley and Fiedler also lead the 50-54 age group. The other leaders were Rick Tock of Mequon, Wis., in the 55-59 age group at 2-under 142, and J.R. Delich of Indian Wells, Calif., in the 60-and-up category at 1-over 145.
