PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. -- The PGA of America's 92nd year features a busy calendar of events led by the Ryder Cup -- golf's preeminent event -- visiting Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, Ky.; and the 90th PGA Championship, the season's final major, making a third appearance at Oakland Hills Country Club in Bloomfield Township, Mich.

The 37th Ryder Cup, the biennial match-play competition between the finest Tour professionals of the United States and those of Europe, will be conducted Sept. 16-21, at Valhalla Golf Club, which has been the site of two previous PGA Championships (1996, 2000) and the 2004 Senior PGA Championship.

Defending Champion Tiger Woods will lead golf's perennially strongest field to Oakland Hills, Aug. 7-10, when the 90th PGA Championship returns to a course that hosted PGA Championships in 1972 and 1979, won by Gary Player and David Graham, respectively.

The 69th Senior PGA Championship, another of the premier PGA of America spectator events, will make its first visit to venerable Oak Hill Country Club in Rochester, N.Y., May 22-25, and mark the first appearance of the oldest and most prestigious event in senior golf in the state of New York.

Defending Champion Denis Watson will head the strongest field in senior golf at Oak Hill's East Course, which was the site of the 1980 and 2003 PGA Championship and the 1995 Ryder Cup.

The PGA of America's championship calendar also features the 41st PGA Professional National Championship, June 19-22, at Reynolds Plantation in Greensboro, Ga. The showcase event for PGA Professionals, makes its first visit to Georgia since 1979, with a 312-member field led by Defending Champion Chip Sullivan of Troutville, Va.

The Junior Ryder Cup, which brings together some of the premier U.S. junior players to face those from Europe, will be contested Sept. 15-16, at The Club at Olde Stone in Bowling Green, Ky.

The 26th PGA Grand Slam of Golf, boasting the most difficult qualifying requirement in the game -- a major championship -- returns to Tucker's Town, Bermuda, Oct. 14-15, at Mid Ocean Club.

The premier event for Senior PGA Professionals will be held Oct. 2-5, as the 20th Callaway Golf Senior PGA Professional National Championship is conducted for the first time in the western U.S. at Toscana Country Club in Indian Wells, Calif., and Andalusia Country Club in La Quinta, Calif.

The PGA McGladrey Team Championship, the Association's nationwide grass roots amateur best-ball event, returns its national championship, Oct. 20-22, to world-renowned Pinehurst (N.C.) Resort and contested on Courses 2, 4 and 8.

The 32nd TaylorMade-adidas Golf PGA Assistant Professional Championship, Oct. 30 to Nov. 2, will return to The PGA Golf Club's Wanamaker Course in Port St. Lucie, Fla.

The 2008 calendar also features the PGA Fall Expo, Aug. 25-28, in Las Vegas; the 21st PGA Minority Collegiate Golf Championship, May 8-11, at The PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie and the 33rd Junior PGA Championship, Aug. 12-16, at a site to be announced.
