RMG Sports Direct, a Chicago-based golf company founded by former Top-Flite Golf executive Ron Goldblatt, is introducing the Eye-Trainer Putter. The putter is a hybrid that the company said functions as a training putter and a performance putter that conforms to the USGA's Rules of Golf for regulation play.

The Eye-Trainer features a patent-pending Eye-Bridge that places a golfer's eyes directly over the ball for perfect putting alignment every time, RMG Sports said.

It is designed to provide a precise target line by utilizing the double-alignment guide on the Eye-Bridge. This guide, according to the company, allows for perfect alignment every time, without the use of today's training gadgets like lasers, mirrors or special glasses.

Once lined up, RMG Sports said the Eye-Trainer's special flat-bottom design enables the golfer to keep the club head perfectly horizontal for a precise putting stroke.

"Golf teaching professionals focus on three fundamentals for good putting: keep the putter flat on the green, keep the putter aimed toward the hole, and keep the eyes aligned perfectly over the ball and putter head," said Goldblatt, the president of RMG Sports Direct. "These fundamentals are the basis for the Eye-Trainer, as it allows golfers to precisely align their eyes, the ball and the putter to the target every time."

As a hybrid, the Eye-Trainer (suggested retail price $149) is crafted as a premium putter that can be used on the golf course thanks to the easy-to-remove Eye-Bridge. A quarter-turn of three screws, with an accompanying tool, and the Eye-Trainer transforms into a regulation putter that conforms to the Rules of Golf.

"Some of the best instructors in golf have stated that a great putting stroke cannot compensate for bad alignment over the ball," said Goldblatt. "Because this putter promotes perfect alignment and precise putting, we wanted to ensure that golfers could actually take it onto the course. Thus, it's really like getting two putters in one."
