ORLANDO ? Golf Pride is introducing a variety of grips here at the PGA Merchandise Show, including a complete line of Whisper grips and the contemporary New Decade Lite Cord grip. The Whisper, which garnered a lot of attention midway through 2002, has expanded with the addition of the Whisper Tour Series putter and the Whisper Mid-Length two-piece putter.

The Whisper grip, according to Golf Pride officials, is a result of years of research and product testing. It utilizes an innovative process combining an open-cell polyurethane overwrap for a soft, supple feel and a high-grade rubber underlisting that absorbs shock and helps maintain consistent grip dimensions.

The new grip synergistically combines the benefits of both materials to create a comfortable, moisture-resistant, lightweight grip, they said. With a focus on greater comfort, Whisper is available in men's, women's, mid-size, jumbo and several putter models.

In addition to the Whisper being gentle on the hands, Golf Pride officials said, it also provides vibration-dampening capabilities that result in less pain to joints along with increased power in each swing.

The Whisper Mid-Length putter is a black, two-piece putter grip ideal for belly length putters. The top grip is six inches and the bottom grip is 13 inches with the stylish gold logo.

The New Decade Lite Cord, according to Golf Pride, is a firm yet comfortable all-weather performance grip in a standard men's outside diameter with a light weight of 38.5 grams. When used to replace standard cord grips, officials said, the New Decade can lower club static weight by 12 to 14 grams and increase club swingweight by three to four points.

The New Decade Lite Cord combines the firmness of cord grips with a soft cord surface all in a super lightweight compound. It?s ideal, according to Golf Pride, for maintaining swing weight when using lightweight shafts.
