Tommy Armour Golf Company has introduced its Todd Sones Tri-Measure Custom Putter Fitting System, company officials have announced. Armour Golf is a division of the Huffy Corporation (NYSE:HUF).

The Todd Sones Tri-Measure Custom Putter Fitting System is a first of its kind, patent pending fitting system, that accurately fits the putter to the golfer, officials said of the system, which is named after its creator, PGA Professional Todd Sones.

With just two measurements, the system identifies the proper length shaft, which is then matched with one of three variable head weights for optimal balance and feel, officials explained. Golfers can then choose from six different head styles, including a belly putter.

Capable of delivering a properly custom-fit putter in approximately 15 minutes, the system was designed in conjunction with a new line of Tommy Armour 845 putters highlighted by the 845 Milled Tri Measure and the 845 Cast Tri Measure Putter.

"Most golfers buy putters off the rack and tend to fit themselves, but they generally don't understand the necessary steps for accurate putter fitting," said John Gutelius, Vice President, Marketing & Product, Tommy Armour Golf. "Tommy Armour joined forces with Todd Sones, one of the most respected teachers in the golf industry, to create a system that provides golfers with an accurate putter fitting process that fits the putter to the player rather than the player to the putter."
