Shaft manufacturer Graphite Design International will unveil its new YS series of shafts for drivers and fairway woods that will feature a new, deep-blue color -- dubbed YS+ -- at next month's PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando.

The YS+ shafts, GDI said, utilize a deep blue, augmented with multi-color graphics, including a revamped, more prominent GDI logo. Additionally, GDI said a new, wrap-around band will reinforce the YS brand and the company's position as one of the industry's leading manufacturer of shafts for fairway wood and drivers.

"Now, Graphite Design diehards will be able to consistently identify the YS shafts via an even sleeker appeal," said GDI President Akio Karashima. "It is a great new look with the same superior product performance."

GDI's YS-6 has been one of the more popular graphite driver shafts on the PGA Tour the past two years, and according to GDI, its YS-7 consistently wins or places among the top of the model count according to the Darrell Survey.
