TaylorMade Golf has introduced a new set of rac irons, company officials have announced. The rac Tour Preferred Combo Set features rac CB (cavityback) irons in 2- through 6-iron and rac MB (muscleback) irons in 7- through 9-iron, plus an rac chrome 48-degree wedge.

The rac CB is a coin-forged cavityback that combines the forgiveness of perimeter weighting with blade-like features that include a compact shape, thin sole and thin top line, officials said. Highly workable, the rac CB's high MOI (moment of inertia) provides greater stability on mis-hits in the middle and long irons.

The rac MB, a traditional muscleback blade, delivers the additional workability and shotmaking precision of a blade. And the rac 48-degree wedge (from the original rac wedge line) features a classic teardrop-shaped head and a thin sole for crisp full shots and sensitive greenside touch shots.

All irons in the rac Tour Preferred Combo Set incorporate TaylorMade's patented rac technology, which is characterized by two distinctive Feel Pockets that channel impact energy to strategic areas of the clubhead to enhance the soft-yet-solid feel. The clubs are equipped with Dynamic Gold shafts, available in R, S and X flexes, and Tour Velvet grip with TM logo.

"The rac Tour Preferred Combo Set got its start on the PGA Tour," says Sean Toulon, Vice President, Global Product and Brand Creation. "Members of TaylorMade's Tour Staff loved the feel and workability of the rac MB, but wanted more forgiveness in their middle and long irons."

The new clubs carry a suggested retail price of $1,200 per set.
