Tommy Armour Golf Company has unveiled its 845 SilverBack series of irons, the latest addition to its flagship 845 line of irons, company officials have announced.

The new irons are offered in three new models: the SilverBack 845m, a classic muscle-back designed forged iron; the SilverBack 845c, a forged cavity-back iron; and the SilverBack 845u, a stainless steel dual cavity-back design. They all provide game improvement characteristics to players at all skill levels, officials said.

"The new SilverBack Series was designed using the Maltby Playability Factor rating system, which is backed by more than 30 years of golf R&D excellence," said John Gutelius, Vice President, Marketing & Product, Tommy Armour Golf.

"Few manufacturers in the golf industry have been able or willing to support their game improvement claims through scientific testing," he added. "The Maltby Playability Factor's rating system enables Tommy Armour to offer iron models, designed specifically to a golfer's playing level, that are backed by expert, independent testing and data."
