Tommy Armour Golf has introduced its Tommy Armour 845 Forged Persimmon Driver, company officials have announced. The new driver combines the classic look and style of the original Tommy Armour persimmon drivers with the latest in design technology, they said.

The Forged Persimmon Driver was designed using the Maltby Playability Factor rating system and the latest performance technology to create a very forgiving driver that offers improved looks, more consistency on off-center hits, increased distance and accuracy off the tee, they said.

The new driver rounds out the company?s 2003 line of Tommy Armour 845 SilverBack irons and Tommy Armour 845 putters.

"The Tommy Armour 845 franchise has such a storied history, especially among better players, that we wanted to expand the line to benefit players at all levels," said John Gutelius, Vice President, Marketing & Product, Tommy Armour Golf. "We wanted to ensure that the playability features of this driver would benefit players at all skill levels. The Maltby Playability Factor provides the scientific proof that the Tommy Armour 845 Forged Persimmon Driver is ideally suited for the super game improvement category."
