Slazenger Golf will debut a new apparel line featuring 60/2's mercerized cotton jersey shirts in vibrant colors and stripes this fall. The company's Spring 2005 line, according to Steve Walsh, Slazenger's vice president of apparel, celebrates "the youthful energy and vitality of golf while simultaneously paying homage to the heritage of the game." Slazenger's new line, Walsh said, features the company's signature mercerized jersey fabric as well as several styles using the Mojave Dry fabric that effectively wicks away moisture. The new line, according to Walsh, has a solid foundation of shirts in neutral colors such as stone, olive and black that can be mixed with apparel in bright colors including tangerine, raspberry and blues. Walsh said the new Slazenger line also presents a few hints of "retro" golf style with the return of rugby style updated for the new millennium. The Slazenger logo has been changed, Walsh said, signaling a return to the original panther insignia used for Slazenger worldwide. The '05 Spring line also brings new oxford stripes and batik silk print woven shirts, as well as a soft crewneck pullover in 100 percent Peruvian Pima cotton interlock that has been enzyme washed for a smooth finish. The Slazenger apparel line, which will be available to consumers in November, offers multiple price points for the shirts. The mercerized shirt line has a suggested retail price of $74, while the Mojave Dry performance fabric shirts have a suggested retail price of $58. The camp shirt models range from $70 to $74 and the outerwear from $60 to $95. Copyright (c)2004 PGA.com. All rights reserved.
