The Yonex Corporation is adding to its Cyberstar product line with the introduction of the Cyberstar VX irons featuring the company's UL-Titanium composite shaft technology. A set of Cyberstar VX irons (3-PW) carries a suggested retail price is $1,280. The Cyberstar VX irons, according to Yonex, feature the new exclusive "Dual Core" head technology with a thin SUS 60 Stainless Steel club face. The "Dual Core" head technology allows the club face to compress and release at impact, officials said, resulting in a longer ball carry and more forgiveness on mis-hits. Yonex said the SUS 60 Stainless Steel club face is only 1.2 mm thin, which reduces the head weight by 10 grams. The tungsten balanced weighting in the club head, according to Yonex, is designed to provide additional head stability and less twisting at impact. This technology, Yonex said, deepens and lowers the center of gravity, which enables the ball to get airborne more easily. The Cyberstar VX, according to the company, is designed to help golfers of all skill levels hit longer more consistent shots, and features a supercharged UL-Titanium 70+ Graphite shaft that is designed and engineered to enhance the specific performance characteristics of each iron throughout the iron set. Yonex said it has incorporated strands of UL-Titanium strategically positioned within the shaft to deliver ultimate power. UL-Titanium is a nickel/titanium alloy that is three times stronger than titanium and twice as strong as resilient as graphite. Copyright 2005 PGA.com. All rights reserved.
