Tour Edge Golf, one of the first companies to produce the so-called "iron-wood'' hybrid club, is now introducing the Bazooka JMAX Tour Iron-Wood set (#1-lob wedge). The new set is designed to help high- and low-handicap golfers hit more consistent, higher, and longer shots, officials said. The clubs can be purchased a la carte to replace individual irons or as a full set. Each club in the full set, according to the company, features a thin, blade-like top line, minimal offset, and a clean, classic look that delivers a higher level of performance than traditional irons. The JMAX Tour's design, Tour Edge said, incorporates a wide, super-heavy sole. Representing nearly 48 percent of the club head's total body mass, Tour Edge said, the sole contains 119 grams of the 254 total grams. The extra sole weight and low center of gravity, according to Tour Edge, help a player hit a higher shot and generate greater carry for maximum distance. The Bazooka JMAX Tour is available in men's and women's right hand in #1-lo wedge Iron-Woods, with left-handed clubs available in #2 and #3. The estimated shelf price is $119 each (graphite) and $79 (steel) and $89 (JMAX graphite $89). A full set (3-PW) is expected to carry a shelf price of $899.99 (graphite), $699.99 (Tour Edge graphite) and $599.99 (steel). Copyright 2005 PGA.com. All rights reserved.
