Bridgestone Golf's popular Precept Lady golf ball has gotten a makeover.

A new version of the Lady line -- called Lady SIII -- begins shipping this month featuring a new core, new dimple pattern and in four colors (Pearl Yellow, Pearl Blue, Pearl Pink and Pearl Clear) in addition to traditional white. The Lady SIII will carry a suggested retail price of $30 per dozen.

The Lady SIII, according to Bridgestone Golf Senior Director of Marketing Dan Murphy, will be the softest feel golf ball on the market because of a combination of its new High-Launch Super Soft Core and a soft and durable Surlyn cover.

The Hi-Launch Soft Core, Murphy said, is designed for soft feel and high launch angle while generating maximum ball speed. The new core also was developed to minimize vibration and dampen shock through player's hands at impact, he said, while the Surlyn cover delivers optimum greenside control and enhanced feel while putting.

The new High-Lift 330 aerodynamic dimple pattern, according to Murphy, makes it easier to get the ball airborne from the tee and a variety of lies, providing more players with the ability to carry shots a longer distance.

While all this technology is what makes the ball work, the color schemes are what likely will stand out most to consumers.

"There's some activity [in the market place] with color balls, but no one is really addressing color balls as a performance product," Murphy told PGA.com. "That's our point: Precept is about quality and performance and a real golf ball."
