Orlimar Golf is shipping its new H830 hybrid club at a suggested retail price of $199. The H830, according to the company, is made from Alpha 300 tech steel, which is exclusive to Orlimar. This steel is lower in density and measurably stronger than traditional steel, company officials said, which allowed Orlimar to equip the H830 Series with a high Coefficient of Restitution (COR), just under the legal limit imposed at .830, helping to provide maximum distance from any lie. In addition, Orlimar said, the H830 Series features an internal weighting system that increases control as well as a compact head design for more player confidence at address. Australian Mark Hensby won the 2005 Scandinavian Masters using a 19-degree H830 hybrid. "The H830 is a remarkable club," said Orlimar President John Biafore. "It looks like a traditional hybrid but it features a very high COR, which means that golfers will be getting a club that will give them maximum distance from whatever lie they choose to use it on." The H830 comes in four versions with lofts of 16 degrees (#2), 19 degrees (#3), 22 degrees (#4) and 25 degrees (#5). The H830 is also available in a 19-degree and 22-degree left-handed model and comes with lightweight graphite shafts designed exclusively for each club. Suggested retail price for the H830 Series is $199. Copyright 2005 PGA.com. All rights reserved.
