Nike Golf is entering the women's golf ball category with its new Super Lady golf ball, which company officials are calling the "sister" of their Power Distance Series. The balls, which are now available in golf shops nationwide, carry a suggested retail price of $20 per dozen. Nike Golf engineers created the Super Lady with a low-compression core and softened ionomer cover, resulting in what they call the softest women's ball on the market. The Super Lady?s added carry and softer feel allow a wider range of swing speeds to optimize distance performance and maximize scoring opportunities, they said. Featuring a 432-dimple pattern, the 60-compression Super Lady helps to produce higher-trajectory shots while improving velocity and distance through its low-compression core. It is designed specifically for golfers seeking a high flight, softer feel and longer distance. "This is an important step for us in our golf ball category," said Stan Grissinger, Category Business Director for Nike Golf Clubs and Balls. "We are seeing phenomenal success and growth opportunities in our women's apparel and footwear business, and are inspired to expand this run in our ball and equipment categories." The Super Lady is the newest addition to the Power Distance family that also includes the Super Far, Super Fly and Super Soft. Copyright 2005 PGA.com. All rights reserved.
