Cobra Golf has expanded its line of King Cobra Baffler Utility Metals with the addition of three new models. The new men's King Cobra Baffler 1/R and 6/R and the women's 7/R Baffler models each contain Cobra Golf's patent pending design to promote high launch, improved forgiveness, and added distance, playability and control.
The original Baffler, launched in 1975, was the first utility metal in the retail marketplace, and the new Baffler Utility Metal is designed for golfers of all skill levels seeking to replace their long irons with more versatile and forgiving utility clubs that offer higher trajectory and longer distance.
The current Baffler Utility Metals are offered in six iron replacement lofts in both men's and senior's models and five iron replacement lofts in women's models. The men's and senior's lines consist of the new 1/R (16-degree loft), 2/R (18-degree loft), 3/R (20-degree loft), 4/R (23-degree loft), 5/R (26-degree loft) and the new 6/R (32-degree loft).
The model number corresponds with the iron model it is recommended to replace. The women's clubs are 3/R (23-degree), 4/R (26-degree), 5/R (29-degree), 6/R (32-degree) and the new 7/R (35-degree).
The combination of a uniquely contoured sole plate and low and back center of gravity makes the new King Cobra Baffler Utility Metal easier to hit than long irons from any lie and turf condition with a higher trajectory and superior carry distance. The Baffler body is constructed of 17-4 Stainless Steel.
The large face area features a thin, hot 465 Maraging Stainless Steel face insert, offering an expanded Sweet Zone for maximum ball speed from all nine points across the club face. A high Moment of Inertia helps stabilize the club head at impact for improved forgiveness and accuracy, and a unique brushed steel top line promotes greater confidence and accurate alignment at address.
All men's and senior's King Cobra Baffler Utility Metals are available in both right-hand and left-hand models with lightweight high launch Cobra/Aldila NV-HL graphite (65g/S, R, Lite) or Nippon NS950 steel (98g/S, R, Lite) shafts.
The women's clubs are also available in right- and left-hand and feature ultra lightweight Cobra/Aldila NV-HL50 (50g) graphite shaft. The stock grip for all King Cobra Baffler Utility Metals is the Cobra/Golf Pride Tour Velvet.
The new clubs carry a suggested retail price of $180 for graphite and $160 for steel.
