Cobra Golf has introduced its King Cobra Speed Series Fairway Metals, which company officials call the first fairway line designed to optimize every player's ball speed for unmatched distance, control and forgiveness.

They carry a suggested retail price of $220 per club with graphite shafts and $190 with steel shafts.

The new Speed Series consists of three models, each designed for distinct player types and their specific ball speeds: X/Speed for extreme ball speed players, F/Speed for faster ball speed players and M/Speed for moderate ball speed players. M/Speed Fairway Metals are also available in Senior's and Women's models.

"Like our Speed Drivers, Speed Fairway Metals have a larger clubface, which, combined with Cobra's advanced face technology, optimizes flex across the clubface for increased ball speed and distance," said Cobra Golf President Jeff Harmet. "Speed Fairway Metals launch higher and have hotter clubfaces so players can hit longer, more accurate shots from the fairway."

The new fairway metals feature a rhombus-shaped center, strategically positioned within a larger, thinner perimeter, that delivers greater face flex for greater ball speed.

The clubs also are designed with larger, hotter clubfaces to promote greater distance, accuracy and forgiveness, and dual weight pads placed lower and further back in the sole shift the center of gravity out to the perimeter of the club head increase inertia and promote an optimum launch angle and spin rate.
