Move It On Over

The new Redline RPM 460 DUAL driver from Adams Golf allows golfers the freedom to adjust the ball flight to create a draw bias, a cut bias or obvious neutral bias, thanks to a pair of moveable weights in the heel and toe of the 460cc club head.

Adams Golf (OTCBB: ADGO) is adding a 460cc driver to its popular line of Redline RPM metal woods. The Redline RPM 460 DUAL, according to the company, is the industry's first 460cc driver with two moveable weights.

The Redline RPM 460 DUAL provides optimal launch conditions and forgiveness, Adams Golf said, while the moveable weights offer versatility by way of customized ball-flight options.

The two weights total 14 grams; one is located in the heel and the other in the toe, said Adams Golf Chief Executive Officer Chip Brewer. And the company's Xface engineering expands the COR (coefficient of restitution) zone across the face for greater ball speed on center and off-center hits.

"You can adjust the ball flight to create a draw bias, a cut bias or obvious neutral," Brewer told PGA.com. "For a majority of players, there is a significant advantage to getting all the way to 460cc. This driver [suggested retail price $349] will be the first to accomplish that and provide truly moveable weights. The launch conditions are outstanding and it's extremely forgiving.

"All of our testing thus far on it has been phenomenal," he added. "With the market position it's going to bring and from what our feedback has been on performance, I have pretty high hopes for this one."

Brewer has long been a proponent of moveable weight technology. Adams Golf first entered the market place with the technology last year with the Redline RPM 430Q that features four moveable weights.

"If you think about it, and you're in the market to purchase a driver, you pretty much know you can purchase a 460cc driver," Brewer said. "It's clear those drivers have a big advantage of forgives and a slight advantage of done right from an overall launch position perspective. After that, having a driver that allows you to customize to hit the ball straighter makes all the sense in the world."

The Redline RPM DUAL driver will begin shipping June with lofts of 8.5, 9.5, 10.5, 11.5 degrees (right hand) and 9.5 and 10.5 degrees (left hand). A torque wrench, owner's manual, four weights and logoed black suede pouch are included with each purchase.
